• ADNS-3080 is based on optical navigation technology. It measures position changes optically to obtain continuous surface images and determines movement mathematically. The external microcontroller reads information from the sensor serial port and converts the data into PS2 or USB signals before sending them to the host PC or game console.
• For best tracking performance, SROM is required to be loaded into ADNS-3080. This architecture enables the immediate adoption of new features and improved performance algorithms. The external program is supplied by Avago Technologies . On power-up and reset, the ADNS-3080 program is downloaded into volatile memory using the burst-mode procedure described in the Synchronous Serial Port section.
